BUSINESS

Background
The current business of the DGOC Group was begun in 1997 by Allan Dolan, a Canadian entrepreneur and lawyer and by Gibril Bangura, a Sierra Leonean businessman, an Executive Director and General Manager of DGOC ’s local operations.

Under Mr. Bangura’s leadership, the DGOC Group maintained its corporate office in Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown, from mid-1997 through 2002 during the civil strife that plagued Sierra Leone. DGOC remained committed to Sierra Leone and the Group’s business during that difficult period.

The Directors believe the Group’s extensive Mineral Licences will provide ample opportunities for exploration and development. DGOC ’s focus is on the discovery of diamondiferous kimberlite deposits in a largely untested tract of the West African Craton, an area believed to be highly prospective for such discoveries. DGOC is also committed to increasing shareholder value by developing the other minerals under license, such as gold and iron ore, and by seeking to generate cash flow from those Mineral Licences where alluvial diamonds are indicated. A 97 kilometre stretch of the diamondiferous Sewa River channel and related terraces falls within the area covered by the Mineral Licenses
